# Cookie Policy Last Updated: 2 July 2026 Effective: 2 July 2026 Website: tickethive.uk Controller: Ticket Hive LTD (Company No. 17295419) Registered office: Unit 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Lytchett Matravers, Poole, BH16 6FH Contact: support@tickethive.uk
This Cookie Policy explains how Ticket Hive ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on tickethive.uk, what each cookie does, who sets it, and how you can control them. It is published to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), and follows the guidance issued by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
โ1. What are cookies?#
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies allow the website to recognise your device and store information about your preferences or past actions. We use the term "cookies" in this policy to cover cookies and any similar technologies โ including local storage, session storage, web beacons, and pixels.
โ2. Your consent#
Under PECR, we must get your consent before storing any non-essential cookie on your device, unless an exemption applies. Consent must be:
- Freely given โ you can say no without losing access to the website.
- Specific โ you can choose which categories of cookies to allow.
- Informed โ this policy tells you what each cookie does.
- Given by a clear positive action โ such as clicking an "Accept all" button.
We treat continuing to browse the site, or pre-ticked boxes, as non-consent. When you first visit tickethive.uk you will see a cookie banner offering three options of equal visual prominence: Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
โ3. How we record your consent#
When you make a choice in our cookie banner we record:
- The decision (accept all, reject all, or per-category choice)
- The categories you allowed or rejected
- The date and time of the decision
- An anonymous, randomly-generated session identifier stored in a first-party cookie on your device (`th_csid`)
- The truncated network identifier of the connection that submitted the decision (so we can spot abuse patterns, not to identify you personally)
- A truncated user agent string
The record is stored on our servers for the lifetime of your account (or up to 7 years for anonymous records, to satisfy our audit obligations under PECR). You can request a copy of the consent record we hold against your session by emailing support@tickethive.uk.
โ4. Categories of cookies we use#
We group cookies into four categories. Strictly necessary cookies are always active โ the site cannot work without them. Everything else is off by default and only activated after you opt in.
โ4.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These cookies are essential to deliver the service you have asked for. They keep you signed in, remember items in your basket, protect against fraud and abuse, and process secure payments. They do not require consent under PECR Schedule A1 because the site cannot function without them.
โ4.2 Functional
These cookies remember choices you make (such as your preferred theme) to give you a personalised experience. If you reject them, some features may not work as expected but the core service still functions.
โ4.3 Analytics
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. All analytics data is aggregated and used for statistical purposes only. We do not use analytics cookies to identify you personally, and we do not share this data with advertisers.
โ4.4 Marketing
These cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and to show you relevant adverts on other websites.
โ5. Cookies we set#
The table below lists every cookie currently set on tickethive.uk. We review this list at least every quarter.
| Cookie | Provider | Category | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| th_session | tickethive.uk | Strictly necessary | Server-side session reference. Holds a random ID; the actual session data lives on our server. Cannot be read by JavaScript (HTTP-only). | First-party | 30 days |
| th_csrf | tickethive.uk | Strictly necessary | CSRF protection token for form submissions. Prevents malicious sites from triggering actions on your behalf. | First-party | Session |
| th_basket | tickethive.uk | Strictly necessary | Stores your pending ticket reservations while you complete checkout. | First-party | 7 days |
| th_theme | tickethive.uk | Functional | Remembers your chosen colour theme (dark, light, midnight). Only set if you have consented to functional cookies. | First-party | 365 days |
| th_csid | tickethive.uk | Strictly necessary | Anonymous, randomly-generated session identifier used to record your consent decision in our audit log. Set on the first consent action and used to correlate subsequent visits. | First-party | 730 days |
โ6. Cookies set by third parties#
Some strictly necessary cookies are set by trusted processors acting on our behalf. Where this happens, we have a written contract that limits the processor to handling the data on our instructions only.
โ6.1 Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd)
When you enter the checkout, Stripe sets short-lived cookies that are required to complete a secure card payment. Stripe acts as a processor only and does not use this data for its own marketing purposes.
| Cookie | Provider | Category | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| __stripe_mid | stripe.com | Strictly necessary | Fraud prevention and risk scoring for card payments. | Third-party | 365 days |
| __stripe_sid | stripe.com | Strictly necessary | Session identifier for the current payment flow. | Third-party | 30 minutes |
See Stripe's privacy policy for full details of how they handle payment data.
โ6.2 Hosting and infrastructure
Our hosting provider may set very short-lived cookies for load balancing and security. These are session-only and contain no personal data.
โ7. Cookies we do not currently use#
We do not currently set any analytics or marketing cookies. Specifically:
- We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics platform.
- We do not use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising tracking.
- We do not use session-replay tools (FullStory, Hotjar, LogRocket, etc.).
If we add any of these in future, we will only load them after you grant consent for the relevant category, and we will update this policy and the in-app preferences panel before doing so.
โ8. How to change or withdraw your consent#
You can change your cookie choices at any time:
- Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page to open the preferences panel.
- Clear the `th_cookie_consent` entry in your browser's local storage and reload the page โ we will ask for your consent again.
You can also block cookies through your browser settings. Most modern browsers let you:
- See what cookies are set and delete them individually.
- Block third-party cookies.
- Block all cookies from specific sites.
- Block all cookies entirely.
Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the site from working โ you will not be able to sign in, add tickets to your basket, or complete checkout.
โ9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control#
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC header indicating that you opt out of sale or sharing of personal data, we treat that as a rejection of any non-essential cookies for that session.
We do not currently respond to the older "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signal, because the standard has been deprecated and there is no industry consensus on what it should mean.
โ10. Children's privacy#
Our website is intended for adults aged 18 and over (UK residents only, per our [Terms and Conditions](/legal/terms)). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has interacted with our site, please contact support@tickethive.uk and we will delete any associated records.
โ11. Changes to this policy#
We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use or if UK guidance changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and the version number below the title show when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through the cookie banner on your next visit, and we will re-prompt for consent.
โ12. Your rights#
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (including your consent record).
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of data we are not required to keep.
- Object to processing.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
For data-subject requests, email support@tickethive.uk. We respond within one calendar month.
โ13. Complaints#
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data or your cookie choices, you can complain to:
Information Commissioner's Office Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF https://ico.org.uk
